Iraq at the Crossroads: Reflections and Prospects

Hafsa Halawa is an independent consultant working on political, social and economic affairs, and development goals across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and Horn of Africa regions. She is also concurrently a Non-Resident Scholar at the Middle East Institute, and a Nonresident Fellow at the Institute of Regional and International Studies at the American University of Iraq in Sulaimaniya. A former corporate lawyer, Halawa has held positions in government, the UN, INGOs/NGOs, corporate multinationals and private firms. Her more recent work on Iraq has focused on: Gender equality, civil society, IDPs, peace & reconciliation, democratisation and social cohesion. She is based in London, United Kingdom.
