The School of Demography was created on 1 October 2015 to acknowledge our historical achievements, current academic profile and strategic aim to be the leading demographic centre for research and training in the Asia and Pacific region. We currently conduct research in the core areas of:

• family formation and change
• mortality, longevity and ageing
• international and internal migration.

We are also engaged with studies in Australia, Indonesia, China, Europe and South Africa.

The School of Demography was formerly the Australian Demographic & Social Research Institute (ADSRI).
