Submission to the Productivity Commission on Indigenous Evaluation
Tuesday 3 September 2019

Researchers from CAEPR have provided a submission to the Productivity Commission's proposed Indigenous Evaluation Strategy. The submission calls for Indigenous control of a new entity charged with overseeing the evaluation of Government policies and programs affecting First Nations peoples. The authors make the case for First Nations people having a central and leading role in the co-design and co-production of evaluation, as well as for Indigenous-controlled organisations to have access to Commonwealth funds to commission evaluations of their own policies and programs.

CAEPR is currently undertaking a three-year evaluation of the NSW Government’s Local Decision Making initiative, an independent evaluation project that is co-designed with First Nations peoples and organisations in New South Wales.

The submission can be viewed on the Productivity Commission's website. The Productivity Commission's Draft Report is expected in February 2020.
