The recently published Cambridge Economic History of Australia features two chapters authored by Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy Researchers.  Dr Boyd Hunter’s chapter, titled ‘The Aboriginal Legacy’, provides an account of the pre 1788 economy and the impact of the arrival of the settlers.  The account is continued up to the present by Professor Jon Altman and Dr Nick Biddle, authors of the chapter titled ‘Refiguring Indigenous Economics: a 21st Century Perspective’.

The publication released this month provides a history of the transformation of Australia as an indigenous economy and small convict settlement into a nation of nearly 23 million with advance economic, social and political structures.

The publication is currently available in hardback, and more information can be found at: http://www.cambridge.org/au/academic/subjects/history/economic-history/cambridge-economic-history-australia
