You are invited to a special masterclass with Professor Jerry A. Jacobs, to reflect on the intersections of your research with the sociology of work and occupations and discuss strategies for positioning this research for potential publications in peer-reviewed journals in sociology, gender studies and related fields, with a particular focus on North American journals.
Professor Jacobs is a distinguished sociologist of work and occupations who has published widely on the future of work, work and family, working time, gender segregation of the labour force; gender divides in education and publication practices of academic journals within particular disciplines. His career involved serving as Editor of the American Sociological Review, one of the top-ranked journals in sociology. He has reviewed papers for many journals and has served as a member of the editorial board of Social Forces and Work and Occupations.

Hands-on Activities and Critical Analysis: Participants will share titles and abstracts of journal articles. The abstracts can be on any sociological topic. Prof Jacobs will offer feedback and give his views of the which journals might be the best match for the planned papers.
