Mexico 22 in Asia Pacific

The Embassy of Mexico in Australia and Music From Ibero-America in Australia present: "Mexico 22 in Asia Pacific", new Mexican music for piano and songs in indigenous languages.

Diego Torre (voice) and Irma Enriquez (piano) will feature in this concert that aims to give visibility to some of Mexico's indigenous languages, through a curated selection of vibrant works by Arturo Valenzuela, Rosa Guraieb, Alejandra Odgers, German Romero, Leticia Armijo, Eduardo Gamboa, and Lucia Alvarez.

The exciting new repertoire in indigenous languages from Mexico: Nahuatl, Huichol, Zapotec, Tohono, Mayan, and Spanish. Including world and Australian premieres - Translations and subtitles in English will be included in the performance.

This event will take place at the James Fairfax Theatre of the National Gallery of Australia - Tickets are available here.

This event is supported by the Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies - ANCLAS.
