The ANU is equal first in the world across two of its philosophy specialties as ranked by the biennial Philosophical Gourmet Report, an international ranking of philosophical learning edited by the University of Chicago's Professor Brian Leiter.

Overall the ANU is ranked 15th in the world, equal with Cornell and UC Berkeley, and ahead of every department in the UK except Oxford.
