Dr Matt Withers recently participated in a two-day expert workshop at the United Nations in Geneva, held on 16-17 October 2024. Organised by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the meeting brought together representatives from UN agencies, intergovernmental organisations, civil society groups, and academia to inform guidelines for implementing Human Rights Council resolution 54/6 on the centrality of care and support to Human Rights. Drawing on extensive research with temporary migrant workers, Matt contributed to conclusions and recommendations that reflect key rights issues that currently prevent migrant workers and their families from accessing equitable care and support.
