COALAR grants 2022/23 - Invitation for applications

The Council for Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR) Grant Round for 2022-2023 opened on Monday 30 May 2022 and will close at 4.00 pm AEST Friday 25 July 2022.

The Council seeks grant applications for projects that can be undertaken between 1 March 2023 and 29 February 2024 in any of the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, México, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú and Uruguay.

For the 2022-2023 grant round, projects that align with the theme of economic, social and environmental sustainability, across COALAR’s priority areas are strongly encouraged. These themes are:

  • business
  • education
  • tourism, and
  • cultural promotion.

These themes seek to encourage Latin America-Australia connections that create, implement and communicate innovative and diverse approaches to this theme.

Grant limits are: minimum of $10,000 (GST exclusive); maximum of $50,000 (GST exclusive).

Applications should be made through the SmartyGrants application portal. Note that projects must be underway by at least 30 June 2022 to meet the funding requirements of the 2021-2022 budget.
