On 6 May, commemoration of the 235th anniversary of Poland’s Constitution of 3rd May 1791, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Australia presented a state decoration to Dr Katarzyna (Kasia) Williams, Deputy Director of the ANU Centre for European Studies, on behalf of the Prime Minister of Poland, in recognition of her outstanding contribution to strengthening Polish national identity abroad and her exceptional efforts to bring Poland and Australia closer together.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of Mr. Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, and Mr Jamie Isbister, Deputy Secretary of the Development, Multilateral and Europe Group (DMG) at the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
