Ian McAllister has been awarded an honorary lifetime membership of the Australasian Political Studies Association (APSA).

The award is made for exceptional contribution to the Association, which in my McAllister's case was for being Editor of the Association's journal, the Australian Journal of Political Science, for a total of 12 years, from 1989-95 and then again from 2004-10.

The award was presented during a dinner for the annual APSA Conference on 27 September 2011
